Ensure that you're up-to-date with your vaccinations before travelling. The local currency is the Pakistani Rupee (PKR). Credit cards are widely accepted in urban areas, but it's useful to carry cash for local markets.

English is widely understood and spoken in urban areas and among the educated population. However, learning a few basic phrases in Urdu, the national language, can enhance your travel experience.

Pakistani cuisine is a culinary delight, a perfect blend of rich flavours and aromas. Must-try dishes include Biryani, a fragrant rice dish with meat; Nihari, a slow-cooked meat stew; and Haleem, a mixture of lentils and meat. Don't forget to try the street food like chaat, samosas, and pakoras. Satisfy your sweet tooth with Gulab Jamun or Rasmalai.

To wrap your meal, sip on some traditional chai or try the unique experience of a Paan – a betel leaf filled with areca nut and other spices, often chewed as a digestive aid and a palate cleanser.
